*  Nonlinear Vibration:

    Nonlinear vibration existing in vehicle's suspension system is analyzed. Occurrence of chaotic vibration is analyzed by bifurcation diagram, time history, phase portrait, Poincare map and power spectrum. And the exact range of excitation frequency resulting vibration is derived. This can guide the setting of speed-control humps and control of vehicle speed. The simulations are realized using Mathematica

Mobile Robots in Transformer Substation

Research Focus

*  Robotics

Current    work:
         I am conducting research on multi-robot coordination and formation control.

Previous work:
We design an inspecting robot based on Pioneer 3-AT robot. It can autonomously cruise in the transformer substation, with collecting picture of substation equipment by a camera and obtaining infrared image by an infrared thermal imager. The purpose is for equipment fault detection using the pictures and images.
The robot moves in the substation according to either fixed route or temporary specified tasks, and for the latter it plans the path autonomously. Usually, the robot navigates itself in the enviornment by planning path and avoiding obstance. Also, we can control the robot’s movement manually.
The robot is powered by three lead-acid batteries, which means it must go back to recharge after about 2.5 hrs’ work one time. Besides, we design a charging device for the robot to connect and recharge automatically. After fully recharged, the robot leaves and go on working.
